What an adorable book! Whether it is tots or foie gras I love a chef/cookbook author who is clearly passionate about his or her food. Sarah Conner brings the passion with a side of crispy tots in this delightful cookbook filled with delicious and unique takes on an American classic, the tater tot. When she calls tater tots “crunchy clouds of perfection†it made me smile and I knew I was in for recipes crafted by someone who is clearly devoted to the art of the tot.As a mom I was drawn to this book because tater tots are one food my kids will eat! A lightbulb went on in my head when I saw this book filled with recipes that are tot-centered but also include a wide variety of different and healthy foods. I realized that the tater tot can become the carrier for other things…chicken, onions, garlic, tomatoes. One thing I think could be added is a little more information on how to make homemade tots; however, she does include a free download that gives you steps on how to make homemade tots.These recipes are simple, tasty with a huge variety of different flavor profiles, which was very cool and unexpected from a book about tater tots. This book is also great because there are recipes for different occasions (pot luck, dinner party) and across all meals of the day. With this book you could eat tots for every meal if you wanted! I recommend this book to parents or anyone who loves themselves a tasty tater tot.
I was shocked when I came across this cookbook. I have been eating Tator tots my whole life and had no idea all the different things you could do with them. Sometimes you get lucky and find a recipe online that included tots, and not just as a side dish to your burger.When I first opened this book, I had no idea that you could tots so many different ways. Who would have thought that you could pan or deep fry them? The creator of this book of course! Last night I was making a tot casserole and I decided to deep fry the bad boys to make them extra crispy first and then I added them on top. Best idea I ever made.So, I was going through the recipes on here. And, I have to say that I have added a couple on my list of things to make. The first one was the Philly Cheesesteak Tator Tots, Jalapeno popper tator tots, and I know I'm going to have to try some of the interesting desserts like Chocolate Covered Bacon Wrapped Tator Tots.Buy this book!! You will definitely be impressed, especially if you are a tot lover like myself.
My kids are big fans of tater tots. Okay, so am I. So when I saw this recipe book, I had to jump at it. The variety of recipes for Tater Tots, was intriguing. I have tried a number of these recipes. And all but one, came turned out really good. Easy to follow. Our family favorite is the Bacon and Cheese Tater Tot Cups. My personal favorite. Is the Philly Cheese steak Tater Tots. I was able to follow it to a “Tâ€. As they listed in the book. Absolutely loved it. The genius of this book, to shape interesting recipes with a food that seems so simple. I have recommended this book to many thus far.
This is a really fun book I do have to say! Got this book because I was curious to see the recipes inside. I looked through the book and was very impressed with what I saw.Went I went through all of the recipes and didn't know that you could make so many things with tater tot's. Just going to tell you what I saw when I read through the book. There is a section that tells you various ways of preparing different types of tater tot's. Also simple ways of making your tots really crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Another thing I am impressed with is the bonus section that you can download which is a quick start guide for making homemade tater tot's. (That was super cool) All of the different variety of recipe sections include: Beef, pork, vegetarian, chicken, sweet potato and even recipes for making tater tot desserts. (Yum!)In the very back of the book are charts for your convenience on how to convert standard and metric weights, volume and temperatures. I also saw a diagram after the charts that show and explain safe zones for heating and cooling foods and how to keep food fresh times.And last...a chart showing you how you can log all of your recipes that you create on your own. The different areas for you to fill-in on the chart or the name of the new recipe the temperature to cook it at the time and how long to cook it and if you have any special toppings on your new tot recipe creations. Just wanted to post what I saw on this recipe book. I'm really excited about this one and surprised it has so many things to help you out in the kitchen besides just recipes. Not too excited about this recipe book. A lot of the recipes don't sound that great. But to be fair, I'll have to prepare them for the final recommendation.
This is really awesome and I’m glad I got this book. A lot of cool stuff in here besides recipes. The charts in the back, the marinade section and a really cool cover design. Very well put together and would recommend this book to anyone who has an air fryer for air fryer accessories to cook with!
