I love mythology and this one brings Mayan legends to life! The creation stories in particular are beautifully written. I urge readers to not give up with the hard to pronounce names and definitions in the beginning, just slog through and refer back if you find you need it. Most of the names are given in English and the stories are easily understandable without it! But it speaks volumes to the author's attention to detail that he took the time to research the meanings behind it!

What a wonderful treasure! This guide to Maya Mythology brings the people to life right on the pages before you! From Creation to Death, these stories have it all! Recommended for anyone interested in History, Mythology or just a good story!

This was a great read except for the yearly calendar and the cycles of time. Those were a bit more than I could keep up with. There is s great poem and really nice stories. You can tell their culture was way different than ours.

If you like mythology, this is a great read. You are able to see different aspects of the Mayan Myths. You learn a lot about the different beliefs that were had.

A good book for learning about the Maya beliefs. A lot of hard to pronounce words but informative.

I'm a fan of the concept of Big Ideas Simply Explained books by DK. This is a good general reference regards the topic of movie history in my opinion. There are chapters that cover a movie of note, headed by a relevant quote, description of genre, silent era, sci-fi, drama, etc., with brief suggestions of why the movie stands out. There is information on directors of each movie. Actors, cinematography techniques, importance of musical score if relevant.In the back of the book lists of important movies not given a chapter of their own seem like "honorable mentions". With a follow up paragraph or so of insight into the relevance of that movie.It did whet my appetite to learn more and see some of the movies covered that I may have missed.

The book, at least what I've read so far, seems so thorough. Imagine my surprise when he lists the part played by Natalie Wood (and her younger sister when the character is a child) is described as being played by Vera Miles. I think it's hard to explain a mistake like this one. I will say, though, I bought the ebook several years ago, and don't know if that error has been corrected.

Not the best DK book I've bought, surprisingly basic content and poorly organized layout. Not a purchase I'm happy with.

Wonderfully written book. Bought it for a friend who doesn't know much about movies but it on a city board of cinema. She thought it was great and comprehensive.

Gave this as a gift to a College film student/ screen play writer. He loved it. Thank yhou.

This book was everything. It touched my heart but then had my heart beating fast from all the heat that was pouring from the words. Janae has a way with words that makes you feel every single word.The connection I have to this book is off the charts. Being able to relate to Vanessa. Wanting to have Josiah as my own. This book was everything, plus so much more.Must Read!!!!

I enjoyed this book a great deal. Vanessa and Josiah are compelling characters that drew me into the story from the first page. They both have issues in their past that make them hesitant to love. The writing is good, and I loved the plot/story-line. Vanessa thinks the only way to be successful is to prove to everyone that she is worthy, and Josiah is closed off due to the death of his first wife. I totally get both perspectives and have struggled with some of these same issues. There are a few editing issues that pulled me out of the story, but I absolutely adored the characters and the growth they both experienced. Good book Janae Keyes!

The funny thing about no strings attached ties us up in knots, and there no way around chemistry and love!This is a great book about how opposites attract and through perseverance, pain, and determination...love wins every time!Vanessa and Josiah, are a wonderful couple, and I highly recommend this sweet read.

The book was pretty good. I’m happy Vanessa was able to overcome her issues. She desperately needed therapy. I liked it but probably wouldn’t reread it!

It's been awhile since I read a good book. I came a cross this book and was not disappointed. I have read several books from Ms. Keyes and I enjoyed every single one of them..

Two people who vowed to never have a relationship was already connected and didn't know it. The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts. They were each other everything and didn't know it.

From friends with benefits to true love which each one denied for years. Everyone saw it but them. It was quite an eye opener when they did. An unusual love story but it worked . Janae Keyes is an excellent author

What a great book! I loved the storyline, the characters and just about everything. Highly recommended!
