I forced myself to set the book down and ended up buying it on Amazon the next day.Taming the Tiger Within is a unique and humbling verse to what most popular magazines and books try to hint towards: the avoidance of bad and the monument of changing one's self. However, Taming the Tiger Within isn't focusing on these modern-day and sometimes self-destructive concepts that try to avoid our own faults. Thich Nhat Hanh has given readers the conduit to empower ourselves to be mindful rather than scared, embrace rather than avoid, and to understand what we fear most; the unknown.This book isn't for someone wanting to 'fix' themselves or 'change' aspects of themselves. This book is meant to make you aware of certain forms of emotions and habits. Anger is a theme that all of us as humans can empathize with. Rather than avoiding or changing our own 'anger', Thich Nhat Hanh discusses how we must become mindful of our anger and understand it rather than act irrationally to an anger that we ourselves do not quite fully understand. This book is not what I had expected, even though I've benefited from many Thich Nhat Hanh over these past ten years. It presents thoughts for focus, each powerful in their seeming simplicity, singular per page.It is about quality of thought rather than compilation of words.

Thich Nhat Hanh writes things in a manner that is easy to digest. Taming the Tiger within helped me with my anger issues and other difficult emotions. This book has a meditation dedicated to a single page--nothing more, nothing less. It makes it easy to focus when under stress.

I like that this book is made up of short snippets from Thich Nhat Hanh's other books. This doesn't have the explanation, just the meat of what you need. This is especially helpful, I have found, when the mind is in the grip of a difficult emotion; in other words when you really need the stuff that this book offers. I have read through it twice and I go back to it regularly, to help me keep transforming those emotions. Nothing is a magic pill, but this is one of the best things I have found to help me through difficult times.

I was surprised to find in this Thich Nhat Hanh volume only a few sentences (sometimes just one) per page. The content of the meditations is fine, but I wouldn't have paid $10 for the book if I'd known the content was so skimpy. Also, this volume contains only previously-released material. The Pocket Thich Nhat Hanh is a better choice.

Beautiful photos and really delicious recipes. I love the the Vegetable Basics - they make anyone feel totally confident being in the kitchen. The Tools and Pantry Staples are really helpful because the worst thing is starting to cook and realize you don't have everything on hand. I also think the vegetable profile on each vegetable is really unique because you actually get to LEARN about the veggie you cook. I truly feel that by using this book, not only can you master the recipes, but you also become a better vegetable chef/general cook overall. So excited about this!

I am really enjoying this book. I am always looking for new recipes to try, especially now since our oldest child has become a Flexitarian (a person who is mostly vegetarian but sometimes includes meat, fish or poultry in their diet.) As the main cook in our household, I already deal with food allergies and other special dietary needs. The Flexitarian part was daunting but I like the idea of cutting back meat in our family diet. This book helped me with that. Easy and good recipes that can be altered if necessary.

As someone who does not cook often, these recipes are very easy to follow and are delicious! I especially appreciate the kitchen hacks. So far, my favorite recipe is the broccoli slaw with crispy tofu - yum!

The book is broken down into different seasons with amazing recipes, no matter what time of year it is. Every veggie in the book has a detailed description about their benefits and different ways to cook them, followed by delicious recipes! This is a must buy item if you love to cook and a great gift for your friends!

A great collection of veggie recipes. Even my pickiest son will enjoy at least a few of these, and the rest will make great sides for everyone else.
