Blaze is a show aimed at preschoolers (3-5yrs). I would have expected a Blaze book to also be aimed at preschoolers. This book is SO SIMPLE. I am extremely disappointed and I wish I was warned about this before buying. This book is more on the level of a 1 year old, but I wouldn't even recommend it for that age because at age 1 I only really bought board books for my son because he would rip the pages.We have ordered MANY other search and find books before. Thomas the Tank Engine, Dora, Paw Patrol, Etc. They have always provided enough of a challenge to my son to keep him somewhat entertained for a while and he enjoys concentrating to find the hidden items.I included some pictures to show what I'm talking about. As you can see, the book says things like "find the monster trucks" and then the trucks are RIGHT THERE. I am honestly just dumbfounded at the level of this book because I have always been so impressed with Blaze overall and the concepts the show introduces to children.

This book is okay. It's good for any young "Blaze" fan. The hidden pictures are super easy to find, though. I'd say in terms of age level, maybe up to four years old. I got this for a 7 year old child with some special needs, so his mentality is that of probably a three or four year old, and he loves this book. He looks at it over and over again and enjoys finding the "hidden" items, even though they're really not hidden. It's a good starter book. Much simpler than the I Spy books.

My son is almost 3 loves blaze got this for a road trip and it kept him busy! He loves the cars look and find and this is awesome as well!

Great quality. 2 year old likes it. It’s a little too easy for him though. Prob better for someone under 2.

Grandson loves these books. My daughter said he insisted on her reading them to him at bedtime.

Godsgrave is a true work of art! For me this does not suffer from the sophomore slump instead it takes everything that made Nevernight brilliant and capitalizes on that to make a worthy and downright fantastic continuation! Godsgrave picks up 8 months after the closing events of Nevernight and we discover Mia has a new destination, the Collegium.One thing I loved about Nevernight was the storytelling and Kristoff keeps it up. The book itself is split into 3 parts and I absolutely love how part 1 tells the story of here we are now but let me also tell you how we got to now, this is told through flashbacks. To me it is never hard to follow the past and present story lines because each one is very unique. I also love how the flashbacks do not overstay their welcome, it has a precise story line and ends.As for the present story and plot, Godsgrave amps up all the action and drama by 100. Kristoff writes some of the best action scenes ever, period. They are gripping, exhilarating, and downright gruesome. Every action scene is vivid and well detailed and that is all thanks to Kristoff's incredible writing style.Now the plot stays it's course from Nevernight, we are still after those that ruined Mia's life, however we now join a Collegium rather then a school for assassin's. Man did I love the Collegium in this book! The new characters were all fleshed out, some likeable some not so likeable. However I do have to tell myself when it comes to Jay Kristoff books I really need to not get so attached to the characters because well you will just have to read the book to find out. The new characters add a fresh new feel to the book to the point that we get to see a more softer side to Mia that we really didn't get to see in the first book, so I appreciated that. Seeing a softer side to Mia really showed some great character development and there definitely was quite a bit of character development throughout this book. We also see some old faces return in Godsgrave which was exciting and bloody shocking (I AM LOOKING AT YOU CLIFFHANGER)! The Collegium is also where we get to see all the action take place. Like I said before these action sequences were epic. They all weren't the same either and what I mean by that is, we didn't have just big blood bath battles. Like a true Colosseum in Rome, their were games, chariot races, and of course blood baths.Last but not least I want to talk about the world a little bit. In Nevernight we only peak at the world of Itreya. In Godgrave we get a whole new perspective of this grand world Kristoff has created for us. We get to see loads more of the city of Godsgrave itself but also we travel to new corners of Itreya. I am hoping this world building and exploration continues in the grand finale of the Nevernight chronicles.All in All Godsgrave was everything I wanted and more and I cannot wait to finally get my hands on the conclusion, hopefully next year. With this book Jay Kristoff has definitely earned the title of auto-buy author in my books and I cannot wait for all the stories Jay has in store for me!!!

I was very excited to read this second installment and it didn't disappoint. Things I liked:- Mia is still this tough as nails assassin who doesn't hesitate to kill but doesn't come off as cold hearted. I do have to say that this book shows Mia being a bit more vulnerable than the first.- I loved the gladiator aspect of the book. I found it completely engaging and enthralling and it definitely had ( and kept) my attention.- I loved all the new characters we were introduced to!Things I didn't like as much:- the footnotes! I've mentioned before (and this is what kept me from giving the first book a 5 star rating) that I hate footnotes in books as it takes you out of the story so completely and doesn't add anything to the plot. I will admit though that this sequel has far far less footnotes than the first book so I really appreciated that.- *SPOILER* I really didn't like how the author used the trope of characters we thought were dead but actually aren't. This actually applies to more than one character in this sequel and I wish it wasn't used because it honestly had me rolling my eyes and thinking 'oh of course this character is still alive how NOT shocking'.Both of these points are still minor things and I have to say I did really love this graphic, explicit addition to the nevernight series.

When I finished "Nevernight," I immediately sent an e-mail to the publisher basically begging them for a copy of "Godsgrave." I think I used the word desperate in my e-mail. I didn't hear anything back and thought I was going to die from need for the second book in the The "Nevernight" Chronicles. Imagine my PURE GLEE when "Godsgrave" was dropped onto my doorstep (aka my desk at work) by an angel (aka the mailman). I couldn't wait to read it. This book took me stinking forever to get through due to life and other similar distracting things, but it was SO VERY WORTH IT.4 Reasons I loved Godsgrave (and why you'll love it to):1. Like "Nevernight," "Godsgrave" follows no rules. Kristoff blends different fantasy worlds, real-life cultures, and sci-fi-like settings to create an entirely unique world. As readers, we have grown to expect certain things of "fantasy" and "sci-fi." Kristoff smashes those boundaries so that, as a reader, you don't know what the hell you're reading (in a good way, I promise). I can't even describe these books to people, because I feel like I have to use so many adjectives. They're truly their own thing. And that, my friends, is pretty damn impressive.2. DAMNIT THESE CHARACTERS ARE SO STINKING GOOD. I'm getting all giddy thinking about how many characters I hated, then loved, hated again, then finally loved. Kristoff takes you on a whirlwind of emotions as you read through these characters interactions, and you don't know who you can and can't trust (sometimes you're even left questioning our main character, Mia).3. The authentic-AF relationship. I won't spoil much about it. But it's FANTASTIC.4. The bad-ass battles!!!!!!! I can't add enough exclamation points to this. There is a massive gladiator-esque tournament going on for the majority of this book, and it's gory, disturbing, heart-wrenching, and AMAZING. I was tense through so much of this book.The bottom line: This book is a raunchy and violent rule-breaker. Don't read this series because you think you know what to expect. Read this book to be uncomfortable, have your heart ripped out of your chest, and jump for joy when you find a new, completely unexpected favorite.

Good book on rules of thumb design of aircraft. It shows using simple language and examples the relationships between the multiple design choices that goes into an aircraft design

I think Raymer has done a great job of condensing college level texts into a basic / fundamental design resource. As he mentions in the beginning of his book, this is not a complete source for aircraft design. So it would be a good idea to be familiar with other sources and information before launching into the design and building of your own airplane.

Based on the reviews and the author's other book "Aircraft Design, a Conceptual Approach" (which is a must have I think for anyone interested the topic of aircraft design) I was looking forward to this book. Sadly I was not impressed. Maybe I'm "past" the level the book is aimed at, but I found the book very light in content.Given the rather high cost of this book I can't recomend it to anyone that is serious about designing and building their own airplane. I don't believe after reading it you would be any closer to being able to design you own airplane. You weren't given any real information about aircraft structures, aerodynamics, materials or flight systems. For example wood is totally ignored as a potential materials.Skip this and consider the book from the author I mentioned earlier (Aircraft Design: A Conceptual Approach (Aiaa Education Series) or find the series of articles printed in Kitplane Magazine written by Donald R Crawford Airplane Design: A Series of Articles Printed First in Kitplanes Magazine

Having done similar work years ago in my early career, I find this book to be a great balance of comprehensive (hitting the key topics) while also being concise (my college text books take up far more space). I enjoyed his style of writing. It was conversational, keeping it light where it could be, and serious where it must be. I also agree with his frequent advice; remember that this is preliminary work, with lots of detailed analyses and testing and caution to follow. Nicely done.

A great intro to engineering your own aircraft. An easy read even for someone like me, who abhors formulas and mathematical equations (even if they are necessary evils in this case). It holds true to its name, so, if you are an engineer, you might want to go for this writer's more complex titles. If you are an ordinary joe like me, who is interested in homebuilt aircraft, this is just right.

The thing I like about this book, is how Dr. Raymer de-mystifies the process of analyzing aircraft design. The process as he lays it out, is totally different from how I had always approached it.That said, the formulas quickly left me in the weeds. The nice thing about that was how well he explained the point of the formula, so I can figure them out eventually. Plus, he gives you the common value derived from the formula. Since we're looking at common homebuilt designs, the normal range of values will generate designs with reasonably predictable performance characteristics.I especially liked how Raymer keeps the design open to unusual configurations. pusher/tractor, canard, asymmetric, are all fair game, as long as the formulas and ratios work out. That really frees the designer to break out of the boxes that seem to constrain light plane design these days.When you talk to aircraft builders, there are often engineer types who delight in telling the amatuers how unsafe and impractical every new idea is. Raymer's book let's you find that out for yourself, without the condescension. It also shows you just how close to practical the idea is....maybe just a little tweek is all an idea needs to be brilliant.

Perfect intro for newbies. Nothing too taxing on your noggin' and you don't need advanced math/physics/mech engineering skills to follow along.

With it's beautiful illustrations and simple text, the story of Me...Jane is simply a wonderful telling of Jane Goodall's young life. With it's adorable cover, this is one children's book I want to display proudly in my library.I grew up a fan of Jane Goodall and being able to share this story with my kids and reading a little bit about Jane's life is fascinating. It's not just the story I love, but the illustrations and soft pastel colors really bring this story to life.With Jane's inspirational message to "Follow Your Dreams", this is a book that I'd recommend to have in your personal home library and in the classroom. This is a great book to introduce younger students to Jane Goodall. I would be really surprised if Me... Jane doesn't win some sort of award. It's truly a beautiful book and a wonderful story.

I was so pleased to find this little book about one of the most remarkable women of our time written for children, especially little girls. In this culture so iced over with materialistic pop media divas, super human heroines, non stop noise, razzle dazzle and bling, this little book is a lovely respite. It shows the world through the quite, thoughtful, curious point of view of a sensitive, smart and determined little girl who pursued her interests and left her mark on the world's consciousness though her life's work. I wish it had been a little longer, had more information about Jane and her experiences, but I think it will be a meaningful affirmation for another little girl I know who also loves animals, is very curious and very determined.( I liked the illustrations too!)

This is a beautiful book that honors the childhood of Jane Goodall. It is simple and dreamy. The only problem with it is that the author did not put any emphasis on Goodall’s hard work and focus as a young adult to achieve what she did. It simply states that she dreamed of working with animals, was interested in animals as a child, and then *poof* woke up to that dream as an adult. As an educator and a parent, I would have liked to see more focus put on her hard work to make such a difference.

It’s a simple book, but it’s one my two year old asks for again and again. She likes to look for the monkey on each page. Her favorite page is one where Jane contemplates life and nature around her “it was a magical world and Jane felt very much a part of it...she could feel her own heart beating, beating, beating”. My child puts her hand to her chest and feels for her own heartbeat. It’s such a simple way to get kids to tune into their surroundings and contemplate nature around them. Bonus that it’s about the real Jane Goodall and features some of her drawings as a child.

Great message to girls everywhere that you can do anything if you have the desire and perseverance to do it. Beautiful illustrations taken from nature drawings Jane did herself. Such a creative story we read it over and over. It’s a good introduction to the genre of autobiographies that kids have a hard time sometimes getting into. Even though the reading level is for little ones it’s still a great book for older readers we’ve given this book as a birthday book gift a few years in a row!

By four thumbs, I mean chimps, of course! And as a human, I give it two thumbs up! This book is beautiful--both in its tender telling of how Jane Goodall became the naturalist she is today and in its wonderful illustrations, accentuated on facing pages with Jane's actual art from when she was a little girl and the antique animal engravings sprinkled like rubber stampings on the pages. I think this is my favorite of Pat McD's children's books so far. The printing, paper, binding and dust jacket also accentuate this lovely volume. I heartily recommend it for children, and for anyone of any age who loves nature, animals, and of course, Pat and Jane. Don't miss it!

I search high and low for those books about girls that will appeal to a toddler boy and this is one of them. I wish there were more stories about girls out there that defy stereotypes.

I adore Jane Goodall, so her story is just amazing already. This book is beautifully illustrated with high detail and color. The book itself is high quality paper and binding. I often purchase this as gifts for other children.

Too detailed of/too busy of illustrations to capture the same age children as the Ladybug or Tree books in this series.

We love this series, but this one is only so-so. Don't get me wrong, we still read it, but it's not frequently requested. The illustrations are done by different people in this series, and this illustrator just isn't our favorite.

my son loves these books

Perfect for older toddlers or preschoolers who are getting ready for more than just naming the trucks. Very nice illustrations and a sturdy binding.

Awesome book - great details!

kids use a lot

Whoever did the print on this didn’t think. They gave black print on black roadway for one part. Lots of spots making it hard for me to read to my kindergartener. Not a book for young kids to read to themselves. He loves the book with how they did the transparent sheets. I thought that part was cool. Would have been better if font color and size was different.

This book looks so real and with the 3D pictures you and your children will feel like they are actually on a construction vehicle. This is a great book to look at and read for hours at a time. We notice something different every time we look at it.
